On Tuesday, a top officer of Assam was arrested on the charge of extortion in Sivasagar district. The accused officer is identified as Shrinkhal Chaliha, a top officer bearer officer bearer of Lachit Sena.
According to the sources, the officer got arrested because he demanded money from a business man in the name of donation for organizing a cultural event and then spat in the face of the trader when he refused.
Assam Chief Minister has already warned people to avoid such kind of donation. Also Assam DGP G.P Singh in view of such kind of forcible money collection will soon implement strict action in Assam.
