Assam witnesses decline in crime rate

National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has released a data of Assam which showed that the total number of cognizable crimes in Assam fell by 48.26 per cent to nearly 69, 000 cases in 2022 compared to the previous year.

Speaking about the decline of crime rate in Assam, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma credited the strong policy of which helped in marking less crime rate starting from 20222.

According to the reports, after decrease in crime rate, Assam now stands at rank 20th of NCRB data, Assam CM informed. He also added, “We will eradicate child marriage from Assam by 2026. We will also put an end to polygamy after the next assembly session.’
