At the Jaipur festival, Janeth Pinggam’s debut film from Arunachal receives a nomination

Chief Minister Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh commemorated Janeth Pinggam’s noteworthy achievement, as her first short film “NUMB” received a distinguished mention at the 17th Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) 2025. “Congratulations to Janeth Pinggam for her debut film ‘NUMB’ being nominated at the 17th Jaipur International Film Festival 2025!” the chief minister posted on Twitter. “Wishing her great success and looking forward to more cinematic brilliance,” said CM Khandu.

Pinggam’s accomplishment, which came from the Shi-Yomi district, is notable among the 1,651 submissions from 77 countries worldwide. Her film was chosen for the short fiction category following a rigorous three-month review by a panel that included 30 people from around the world. With submissions from the US, Germany, Canada, China, and the UK, the Jaipur International Film Festival, which takes place from January 17–21, promises to be a global cinematic exhibition. Since its founding in 2009, JIFF has developed into one of the most competitive film festivals in the world.
