Axis Max Life expands retirement offerings with Smart RISE launch

Axis Max Life Insurance Ltd. has strengthened its retirement product portfolio with the launch of Smart Retirement Income with Sustained Earnings Plan (Smart RISE), a solution that combines a guaranteed annuity with a NIFTY 50-linked variable annuity to offer customers both predictable retirement income and exposure to equity market growth. The newly launched plan allows policyholders to customise their retirement timeline by choosing a deferment period during which the retirement corpus can accumulate before regular annuity payments begin. Following the deferment phase, customers receive a fixed guaranteed annuity throughout the policy term along with a variable annuity linked to the performance of the NIFTY 50 Index. The product also incorporates a legacy-planning feature that provides for the return of the purchase price to nominees in the event of the annuitant’s demise, subject to policy terms and conditions.

Vaibhav Kumar, Head – Products, Ecommerce and Enterprise COE at Axis Max Life Insurance, said the launch marks a significant milestone in expanding the company’s retirement portfolio. He said the index-linked variable annuity has been designed to address the evolving needs of customers seeking financial protection, flexibility and reliable pension income while supporting long-term financial freedom. In Itanagar, financial planners believe Smart RISE could generate interest among government employees, professionals and business owners who are increasingly looking beyond conventional savings products for retirement planning. With growing awareness of long-term wealth creation and inflation management, demand for solutions that combine guaranteed income with market-linked return potential is expected to rise in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital, particularly among younger investors planning for retirement early.

Axis Max Life Insurance, formerly Max Life Insurance Company Ltd., reported a gross written premium of Rs 38,877 crore in FY2025-26, reflecting its continued expansion in India’s life insurance and long-term savings market.
