Campus comedy-drama Dr. G will hit the theaters on October 14, the makers announced on Monday. Starring Rakul Preet Singh and main protagonist Ayushmann Khurrana, the film marks the directorial debut of Anubhuti Kashyap.
Talking about the role of a gynecologist in Doctor G, Ayushmann had earlier said in a statement, “The subject of Doctor G is very close to me. Considering the lockdown restrictions, we all have been waiting for the film to start and we are glad that the day has finally arrived. It is an honor to portray a doctor on screen for the first time. I am also really excited to start shooting for the film as it will allow me to relive the memories of being a student and living in a hostel. I look forward to collaborating with my directorial passion.”
Production house Junglee Pictures shared the film’s release date on Twitter. “Zindagi Hai is full of Googly. Chahiye tha orthopedics, par ban gay DoctorG. Get ready for your appointment, #DoctorG hits theaters from 14 October 2022,” the banner tweeted.
Dr. G is written by Kashyap with Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh, and Sourav Bharat. Produced by Vinit Jain and co-produced by Amrita Pandey, the film features Shefali Shah in a guest appearance.
