B20 emphasizes multilateral partnership

B20 (Business20) Conference begins in Imphal, the capital city of Manipur on Friday in which Delegates from G20 member countries and Business stalwarts participated. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the B20 conference in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs and the G20 Secretariat.

On Friday, the agenda focused on ‘Opportunities for Multilateral Business Partnership in ICT, Medical Tourism, Healthcare, Handlooms’. The conference also focused on opportunities for cooperation and investment in the tourism and hospitality sector. Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Prakash, and other senior officers from the State and Central Government officials participated. CM Biren Singh hailed hosting the B20 as a unique opportunity for the state to get investment from home and abroad. Delegates will interact with representatives of local industries from different sectors and visit the state’s historical and cultural sites.

Discussions were held to develop a common agenda for strengthening the economy, with representatives from Australia, Argentina, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Chad, Canada, China, France, Greece, Iceland, Japan, Nepal, Russia, Seychelles, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Tunisia, Uganda, the United States of America and the United Kingdom participating. The B20 is an official dialogue platform for the global business community to make recommendations on policies to support global economic growth.
