Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance and ICICI Lombard General Insurance are intensifying efforts to expand insurance awareness in Tripura under the State Insurance Plan. The recently concluded fourth State Level Insurance Committee (SLIC) meeting reaffirmed their commitment to bridging the insurance gap and promoting financial security in the state. The SLIC meeting, attended by key officials including Tripura Finance Secretary Apurva Roy and Director (Institutional Finance) Rakhi Biswas, reviewed the progress of various insurance awareness initiatives. The committee plays a crucial role in implementing IRDAI’s ‘Insurance for All by 2047’ vision, ensuring that both urban and rural populations in Tripura benefit from financial literacy and insurance accessibility.
“As the lead life insurer, we are focused on making insurance understandable and accessible across Tripura,” said Anil PM, Head of Legal, Compliance & FPU, Bajaj Allianz Life. “Our initiatives have significantly engaged diverse customer groups, thanks to the state government’s support.” ICICI Lombard’s Chief of Retail & Government Business, Anand Singhi, highlighted the company’s role in strengthening non-life insurance penetration. “Through our awareness drives, we aim to ensure every individual has access to the protection they deserve. Additionally, we have expanded CSR initiatives in road safety, health, and education.”
In Agartala, the growing emphasis on insurance is expected to enhance financial security among traders, small business owners, and consumers. With increasing awareness, local enterprises are likely to opt for comprehensive coverage, ensuring business continuity and reducing financial risks. Both insurers will continue engaging with local communities and participating in upcoming District Level Insurance Committee (DLIC) meetings to further strengthen their outreach.
