On Saturday, an activist of Bajrang Dal named Sambhu Koiri was killed near Karimganj. Koiri was returning to Karimganj district after attending a three-day training camp of the Bajrang Dal in neighbouring Hailakandi district.
According to the sources, the activist was of 16 year-old.
Connection to the murder a person got arrested, police said. Further investigation is underway.
Situation in the area devastated, sources said. Local people were demanding arrest of the culprits; to keep the situation under control some forces were deployed.
Police said, “The person was attacked with sharp weapons. Local people immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.”
