Bandhan Bank joins hands with Assam Cancer Care Foundation to boost affordable cancer treatment

Bandhan Bank has extended its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support to the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF), a joint initiative between the Government of Assam and Tata Trusts. The CSR grant will aid delivery of standardised and affordable cancer care across 17 districts in the state over the next two years.

The partnership was formalised with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony held in Guwahati. Key dignitaries present included Partha Pratim Sengupta, MD & CEO of Bandhan Bank; Dr. (Maj Gen) Jai Prakash Prasad, COO of ACCF; and Pranab Kumar Sarmah, Secretary, MERD.

“This collaboration marks a significant step forward in easing the burden on cancer patients,” said Dr. Prasad. Mr. Sengupta added, “Bandhan Bank remains committed to the welfare of Assam’s people, and this partnership reflects our resolve to help underprivileged patients access vital care.” The initiative is especially significant for regions like Agartala, where patients often travel long distances for treatment. With ACCF’s network expanding in Assam, neighbouring regions like Agartala stand to benefit through reduced pressure on local healthcare infrastructure and improved regional access.
