Bandhan Bank launches online direct tax collection nationwide

Bandhan Bank today announced the launch of its online direct tax collection service, expanding its reach to customers and non-customers across India. Utilizing the TIN 2.0 platform of Income Tax, the bank now offers a seamless method for paying direct taxes online. As an RBI-appointed agency bank, Bandhan Bank also provides offline tax payment services through its extensive network of over 1,700 branches.

With this new service, Bandhan Bank customers can pay their direct taxes quickly and conveniently using the bank’s Retail Internet Banking, Corporate Internet Banking, and Payment Gateway, which supports debit cards, credit cards, and internet banking. Additionally, taxes can be paid at any Bandhan Bank branch using cash, cheques, or demand drafts. This move aims to simplify the tax payment process for customers and non-customers nationwide.Mr. Debraj Saha, Head of the Government Business Group at Bandhan Bank, expressed pride in the bank’s new role as an agency bank for the Central Board of Direct Taxes. “This is yet another addition to our Bank’s product suite comprising solutions powered by cutting-edge digital capabilities. As the digital ecosystem is proliferating across the country to bring forward a hassle-free superior convenience, we as a Bank are aligned with the Government’s initiative of e-Governance plan,” Saha stated.

Bandhan Bank, now operational in 35 out of 36 states and union territories, serves over 3.35 crore customers through its robust network of more than 6,300 banking outlets across India. Meanwhile, in Agartala, the bustling local market reflects the city’s vibrant economic activity. Vendors line the streets, selling everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts, contributing to the local economy’s growth. As Bandhan Bank’s new service makes tax payments easier, local business owners in Agartala are optimistic about a more efficient financial future, facilitating smoother transactions and business operations.
