Bandhan Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to provide the Shaurya Salary Account, a corporate salary account tailored for defence personnel. The account offers benefits such as a zero-balance requirement, protection for IAF personnel and their families, and attractive interest rates. The agreement was signed by Air Vice Marshal Updesh Sharma VSM, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Accounts & Air Veterans), and Debraj Saha, Head – Government Business Group, Bandhan Bank, in the presence of other senior officials from both organizations. This initiative complements Bandhan Bank’s role as a SPARSH Service Centre, which provides pension-related services to defence personnel across 557 designated branches.

The collaboration is expected to boost financial accessibility for defence personnel in key cities, including Agartala. The Agartala market, with its growing defence community, is poised to benefit from this partnership, offering convenient financial solutions to serving and retired personnel. Bandhan Bank has rapidly expanded its footprint, with over 6,300 banking outlets across 35 states and union territories. The bank’s deposits stood at ₹1.41 lakh crore as of December 31, 2024, reinforcing its commitment to financial inclusion and nationwide service.
