Bangaluru delivery agent beaten up over a false allegation

A delivery working boy from Assam was beaten and locked up in a room of a society in Bangaluru. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma urges Karnataka counterpart to ensure justice to the delivery boy.

According to the sources, the incident took place on June 12, 2023 when an 8- year’s old girl went missing in an apartment. Later, the family recovered the girl and asked about how she went missing. The girl alleged her parents about a delivery boy dragged her to the terrace.

Later, the residents of the apartment identified the delivery boy and he was beaten up and locked into a room. Soon Police came to the spot and collected CCTV footage.  The CCTV footage revealed the 8-years old girl herself went to the terrace.

Also, the delivery agent refused to file a counter-complaint saying he would soon move back permanently to his home state Assam and cannot afford to regularly visit Bengaluru for legal formalities and court trials.

Assam Chief Minister tweeted, “The acute harassment & trauma being faced by a delivery agent from Assam over fake charges, is extremely disturbing.”

“I request the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka to kindly ensure that adequate protection and justice is delivered to the said individual,” he added.
