Bangladesh Expands Maritime Economy with New Port Development

Bangladesh’s government has unveiled plans to develop a new deep-sea port at Matarbari, aiming to increase the country’s trade capacity and boost its maritime economy. The port will be equipped with modern cargo-handling facilities and expanded shipping lanes to accommodate larger vessels. The initiative is expected to attract foreign investments and reduce congestion at Chattogram Port, the country’s main trade hub. This project aligns with Bangladesh’s goal of becoming a regional leader in maritime trade and logistics.
