The Bangladesh government has launched Krishi Bazar, a nationwide digital marketplace connecting farmers directly with buyers, wholesalers, and exporters. The goal is to minimize middlemen and maximize profits for rural producers.
The portal includes real-time pricing, logistics tracking, and certification for organic produce. Over 200 cooperatives have already signed up. Experts say this will boost export potential of rice, jute, and fishery products.
The platform mirrors similar models in India’s ONDC and Nepal’s Agro Market initiative, reflecting a broader South Asian shift toward tech-driven agri-trade.
