He took part in this visit with a group of Western business leaders. During the visit, a meeting was held between the Chinese President and Bill Gates.
“You are the first American friend I have met in Beijing this year,” Xi Jinping told Bill Gates during a meeting in Beijing, according to China’s state-run People’s Daily.
Xi also said, “We have always placed our hopes on the American people and look forward to continued friendship between the peoples of the two countries.”
According to a recording shared by CCTV, Bill Gates responded by saying, “Very honored to have this opportunity to meet.” He added, “We always have great conversations.” And we will have many important topics to discuss today.
