Senior BJP leaders continued their outreach in the Northeast on Wednesday as Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak visited Tripura to offer prayers at the famous Tripura Sundari Temple in Gomati district.The two leaders arrived in Agartala a day after attending the swearing-in ceremony of the new Assam government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. They were received at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya. Speaking to reporters after reaching Agartala, Rekha Gupta said she was happy to visit Tripura and thanked the state leadership and party workers for welcoming her.
“I feel pride and relief after reaching Tripura. I thank Chief Minister Manik Saha and all BJP workers for the warm welcome. I will visit the temple of Mata Tripura Sundari for her darshan,” she said.She also spoke about development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and said she prayed for the continued progress of both the country and Tripura. “I pray that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, both Viksit Bharat and Viksit Tripura continue to move forward. I also pray that we are able to provide every possible benefit to the people of this state,” Gupta added.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said the visit was mainly to seek blessings from Maa Tripura Sundari and support the BJP government’s development agenda in the Northeast. “After attending the swearing-in ceremony of the Assam government, we came here to seek blessings and pray that under the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha, Tripura continues to progress and becomes one of the leading states in the country,” he said.
