BJP’s income almost fell by 80%

The BJP’s total income in the 2021 financial year fell by nearly 80 percent to Rs 752 crore as contributions through electoral bonds fell from Rs 2,555 crore to Rs 22.38 crore.

Under the heading ‘Election/General Campaign’, the party has shown an expenditure of over Rs 421 crore. In the last financial year, the expenditure under the head was Rs.1352 crore.

Sub-head money was spent on activities like an advertisement, helicopter and aircraft hire, hoarding and cut-outs, financial support to candidates and donations to others.

Generally, contributions and expenses increase during Lok Sabha elections.
