Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday visited the flood-affected areas of Nazira, Mahmora and Sonari Legislative Assembly constituencies to assess the prevailing situation and reviewed the extent of damage caused by the recent floods in Upper Assam districts. The flood situation in Assam showed signs of improvement on Sunday, but over 1.35 lakh people in five districts continue to remain affected by the deluge.
