Tata Power plans to establish a 10GW wafer and ingot manufacturing facility, marking its entry into this segment, CEO and MD Praveer Sinha announced on Tuesday. The company currently operates an integrated solar module and cell manufacturing capacity of 4.9GW. Ingots and wafers serve as the essential base materials for producing solar cells. Sinha said Tata Power is finalizing the plant’s location and technology. In Q2 FY26, the company’s solar operations produced 928MW of cells and 970MW of modules.
