The Dhalai district administration in Tripura has approved Rs 25.16 lakh in ex-gratia assistance for families affected by a fire at the Aparashkar Brick kiln Factory in Kamalpur. Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that Rs 4 lakh would be provided to the families of the five deceased workers, with additional financial support for the injured from the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF). Two critically injured individuals will receive Rs 2.5 lakh each. A memorandum issued by the district administration specifies that payments will be made to the next of kin after completing necessary formalities. The incident occurred when a brick kiln chimney collapsed, resulting in five fatalities; three workers died instantly, while two others later died from their injuries in the hospital.
