BSF and Tripura Police seize narcotics in Sepahijala

The Border Security Force (BSF) and Tripura Police seized a large cache of narcotics valued at several lakh rupees from Barnarayanpur village in Sepahijala district on Thursday. A BSF press release stated that the operation commenced on July 25th at around 7 PM, following a specific intelligence input. The joint team from BSF and Tripura Police launched the raid in the vicinity of Border Outpost Dhanpur under the jurisdiction of Jatrapur police station in Sepahijala.

During the raid, the joint team recovered four drums of ganja, weighing approximately 35 kgs, and 3760 bottles of Phensedyl syrup from the residence of Iman Miyan in Barnarayanpur.

However, the operation faced resistance as locals began pelting stones at the security personnel, allowing the suspect to flee. The mob’s attack resulted in injuries to the BSF vehicle driver, who was subsequently taken to a Primary Health Center for first aid. Additionally, a police vehicle sustained damage during the confrontation.
