BSNL: Arunachal Pradesh will have mobile network connectivity by June

Every village in Arunachal Pradesh will have access to a mobile network once Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) 4G saturation project is finished by June 30, 2024. BSNL Arunachal Pradesh Business Area General Manager Saket Kr Verma provided the update at a recent Telecom Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting. He also discussed the state government’s telecom plans, the difficulties in putting these projects into action, and the status of 4G rollout, notably in Border Outpost (BOP) locations.

Member of Parliament Tapir Gao, who chaired the conference, emphasized the strategic value of telecommunication in border regions, describing it as essential for national security. He called on government agencies, paramilitary groups, the Indian Army, and ITBP to assist BSNL in expanding network coverage, especially in 36 isolated locations along the Indo-Tibetan border. The MP promised to help connect vital BTS (Base Transceiver Station) locations to the electrical grid.

The communication issues at border outposts (BOPs) were brought to light by ITBP DIG Angad Prasad Yadav, who also emphasized the necessity of network development in order to keep in touch with headquarters and families. Dilip Siram, Principal General Manager of BSNL’s Bharatnet, NE-2 Circle, also gave the committee an update on the state’s progress on the Bharatnet Project. Members of the TAC, including Yowa Tajam, Techi Nyajung, Nabam Vijay, and Nabam Taping, expressed network-related issues in their respective regions and encouraged BSNL to take the required action to make improvements.
