Business Development Awareness Programme

MSME plays a vital role in economic structure and employment generation of West Bengal. West Bengal accounted for 11.62% of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises and holds the 2nd Position in the Country. West Bengal has highest number of MSME in the country with 52,69,814 nos. of Units.
The West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd was established in the year 1961 under the aegis of MSME Department with the sole objective of promotion infrastructure and extending marketing support to the MSME having low investment capacity and but high potential in respect to employment generation. During the years, WBSIDC has developed 52 (Fifty Two ) nos.of Industrial and Commercial Estate widely scattered all over the state . All the Estates have been developed in prime location wherein land and sheds for setting up of Industries are allotted at subsided rate with all modern infrastructural facilities . This has helped a large number of MSME’s towards growth as well as employment generation.
With a mission to promote SC- ST entrepreneurs in wider business arena WBSIDC Ltd in collaboration with Sister Nivedita University and MSME Entrepreneurs Association of Kasba organised a one day awareness programme at Kasba Entrepreneurs Meeting Hall. The
programme highlighted the areas of production, marketing of products, State Govt. Schemes, availing Bank Loans, Waste Management etc. which will boost up the business prospects of the Entrepreneurs to compete in wider business arena.
The program was inaugurated by Shri P Mohangandhi, IAS (Managing Director, West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd), Shri Biplab Roy Chowdhury (Chairman, West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd) , Shri Abhijit Mukhopadhyay WBCS ( Executive Director ,West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd), Shri Satyam Roychowdhury, Chancellor, Sister Nivedita University, Smt Ina Bose, Director – HR & Industry Connect, Sister Nivedita University and Dr Amit
Kundu, Dean-Management Studies, Siister Nivedita University.
The program was well attended by over 50 successful entrepreneurs from across Kolkata.
