An elderly resident of Asansol has become the first patient in Eastern India to receive the indigenously manufactured MyCLIP TEER device for treating severe mitral regurgitation. The procedure was performed at Manipal Hospital, EM Bypass, Kolkata on November 29.  The 60-year-old patient, identified as Ramswaroop, a small business owner from Asansol, suffered from multiple cardiac complications, including heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and severely reduced pumping function.
