Tata-owned Taj Hotels confirm data breach of 1.5 million customers

The Tata-owned Taj Hotels Group suffered a data breach that exposed the information of more than 1.5 million customers, a news report said. According to a report by CNBC-TV18, a bad actor going by the handle, "Dnacookies" demanded $5,000 (roughly Rs. 4.16 lakh) as ransom for the entire dataset. This apparently includes addresses, membership IDs, mobile numbers and other personally identifiable information, according to sources close to the publication. ED slaps over Rs 9,300 crore FEMA notice against BYJU’s

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on Tuesday that the adjudicating authority under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) has issued a show-cause notice to BYJUS's parent company Think and Learn Pvt Ltd and CEO Byju Raveendran based on the complaint. 9,362.35 crore of FEMA has been booked against them.
