World Health Organization has given approval to a second malaria vaccine known as R21/Matrix-M which will protect people against the deadly disease, the vaccine has the highest efficacy of 75%. Centre hikes LPG subsidy for Ujjwala beneficiaries to ₹300 per cylinder

The union govt. has increased subsidy amount for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to ₹300 (an increase of rupees 100) per LPG cylinder, Union minister Anurag Thakur said during a briefing on Cabinet decisions on Wednesday. The market price of a LPG cylinder weighing 14.2 kg is Rupees 903, whereas the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme currently pay ₹703 per 14.2-kg cylinder.
