Business Transformation Programme Launched in Arunachal; Governor Gives Call for Asset Creation

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (retired) KT Parnaik launched the Business Transformation Programme for Micro and Small Entrepreneurs in Itanagar. He urged entrepreneurs to create productive assets that aid state development and highlighted opportunities in sectors such as hospitality, waste management, competitive exam coaching, preservation of local languages, and community service kiosks. The Governor stressed the importance of leveraging workshop knowledge into successful enterprises, noting that while finance and infrastructure are vital, enhancing entrepreneurial capabilities is crucial for growth. Key skills identified include business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and technology adoption. He praised the collaboration between the State Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Volvo Group India in organizing the programme. Additionally, he backed CII’s proposal for a Multi Skill Training Institute (MSTI) for youth training aligned with industry needs. The Governor emphasized that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are vital to India’s economy, contributing nearly 30% to GDP and employing over 11 crore individuals nationwide. In Arunachal Pradesh, approximately 50,000 MSMEs are registered across various sectors, including food processing and tourism, enhancing local economies. He noted the rise of innovation and startups in the state, with the Arunachal Pradesh Innovation and Investment Park incubating 106 startups in four years, 38% of which are women-led.
