Byatikram MASDO successfully concludes third edition of International Writers Meet 2024 in Guwahati

Byatikram MASDO wrapped up the third edition of the Byatikram International Writers Meet 2024, held from November 22 to 25 in Guwahati. The event attracted prominent writers from across the globe, offering a platform for intellectual dialogue and cultural celebration.

The meet featured a diverse lineup of international authors, including Tendo Taijin (Japan), Alexandra Nicod (Switzerland), MiodragJaksic (Serbia), and Jorge Contreras Herrera (Mexico), alongside renowned Indian authors such as Dr. Reshma Ramesh, Ashok Chakraborty, and Bijay Shankar Sur. The inaugural session at Aurus Mall saw dignitaries like Dr. Rita Chowdhury and Shankar LallGoenka, who presented special awards to international guests.

The event also showcased local cultural performances, poetry readings, and book launches. At Cotton University, seven books by Prof. Jiban Nath and Bijay Shankar Sur were launched, reflecting the region’s literary vibrancy. Notable performances, including Assamese Bihu and Nepali dance, enriched the cultural experience. In addition to intellectual discussions, the program included heartfelt tributes from international writers like Alexandra Nicod and Tendo Taijin, who praised the hospitality of Assam. The four-day event ended with a farewell dinner, leaving a lasting impact on participants and highlighting Northeast India’s growing literary presence globally.
