Byatikram, a leading socio-cultural organization in the North East, is set to commemorate the death anniversary of iconic music composer Sachin Dev Burman on October 28, 2024, at the Pragjyoti ITA Center in Machkhowa, Guwahati. Supported by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department of Tripura, the event will begin at 5 PM.
The evening will feature the prestigious “S D Burman Memorial Byatikram Lifetime Achievement Award 2024,” to be conferred upon celebrated Assamese musician Zubeen Garg. Expressing his gratitude, Garg stated, “Like Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, Sachin Dev Burman is the pride of the North East. It is an honor for any artist to receive an award in his name.”
Prominent attendees will include Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha. The program will also highlight a cultural extravaganza, featuring performances from notable artists and a special dance led by Champa Chakraborty, involving 50 dancers.
