In connection with alleged irregularities in the hiring of assistant teachers for West Bengal’s primary schools in 2020, the Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a new formal complaint, according to officials. The Calcutta High Court’s directive to the federal investigation agency to look into the claims led to the filing of the FIR against unnamed individuals, they claimed. The complaint concerns alleged anomalies in the selection procedure for 16,500 primary teachers that the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) started on November 23, 2020, for candidates who passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and underwent training.
