Siliguri, February 4, 2021: On the occasion of World Cancer Day, eminent Oncologist of North Bengal, Dr. Saptarshi Ghosh of Siliguri Nursing Home has organized a unique Cancer Survivor Get together at Hotel Sinclairs on 4th February 2021. The cancer survivors treated by Dr. Ghosh took part and shared experience and struggle to come back in normal life after fighting Cancer.
The main aim of the Survivors Program was to make the Cancer Survivors interact within themselves and share their experiences to find out a common way to keep on living together. Dr. Ghosh provided some general information and discussed some common myths about Cancer. He also said at present cancers are actually curable and not everyone needs to go to Mumbai or Hyderabad for treatment. Siliguri Nursing Home Pvt. Ltd. has started a in-house Immunohistochemistry Lab and so it has become easier to get a confirmed diagnosis of the type of cancer and start the treatment as soon. He also thanked the government schemes (Swasthyasathi, WBHS) for making the Cancer treatment affordable to general public.
