Centre approves govt ayurvedic medical college for Tripura

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha today said the Centre has approved the state government’s proposal to establish a government ayurvedic medical college and hospital at Udaipur in Gomati district.
The proposal has been cleared by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) under the Ministry of AYUSH. The institution will have an intake capacity of 60 seats from the 2026-27 academic session, he said.
“I am delighted to share that the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, has accepted our application for the establishment of the Tripura Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital at Udaipur with an intake capacity of 60 seats from the academic session 2026-27,” Saha said in a social media post.
“My heartfelt gratitude and sincere thanks to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for his visionary leadership and unwavering support in strengthening healthcare and medical education across the country. This landmark achievement will significantly enhance Ayurvedic education, promote traditional systems of medicine, and create new opportunities for aspiring students in Tripura while improving healthcare services for our people,” he added.
