Chief Minister’s Media Advisor lays foundation stone for beautification of pond and its peripheries in the midst of Howly

Stresses on reviving of glorious traditions of Howly Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Hrishikesh Goswami today inaugurated

the newly augmented Howly Electrical Sub-station in presence of Minister of State (independent charge) for Urban Development Pijush Hazarika at a programme held at Howly. He, at the same time laid the foundation stone of the beautification work of the pond at the centre of Howly today along with the beautification of its peripheral areas.

It may be noted that the scheme for the beautification of the pond involves a financial outlay of Rs 1 crore. Speaking at a simple programme organised on the occasion, Media Advisor Goswami said that everybody in the society should reflect a sense of social responsibility and they should lend qualitative contribution to the empowerment of society.

Referring to a glorious history of Howly, Goswami gave a call to all to work for reviving the rich traditions of the place.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Town and Country Planning said that besides beautification project, an additional Rs. 1 crore will be granted for recreation centre and pathway for walking. He also acknowledged the role played by Media Advisor Hrishikesh Goswami in getting the projects implemented in Howly. Besides giving a snapshot of different schemes that the present State government has taken for the welfare of

all sections of the people of the state, minister Hazarika said under newly launched Arunodoi scheme a family under below poverty line would be given Rs. 10 thousand every year. He also said that State government would increase the limit of the financial help to be given under Arunodoi scheme.

MLA Gunindra Das while speaking on the occasion gave a brief of all government programmes that have changed the lives of all sections of the people of the state as well as the constituency. The welcome address of the programme was given by Deputy Commissioner Munindra Sarma who said under the present government Howly Municipal Board’s parameter has been increased from four to 10 wards.
