The Aizawl City Beautification Project’s foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, marking the commencement of the initiative outlined in the Lammual Master Plan. The project aims to enhance central Aizawl into a vibrant recreational area with features for children, youth, and the elderly. Key elements include road construction and widening, the establishment of Aizawl Square, a new Vanapa Hall, a power substation, and various parks and public seating areas. A significant budget of Rs 36 crore is allocated for these improvements, which are already underway following the transfer of the Assam Rifles land to the Mizoram government. The finalized plan incorporates community input, with no further proposals accepted, emphasizing the project’s collaborative nature for the benefit of all citizens.
