Classic Legends has been granted a new patent, further strengthening its position as a design-led performance motorcycle maker in India. The patent, which covers an adjustable visor and speedometer system, was first seen on the 2025 Yezdi Adventure. Granted under the Patents Act, 1970, the patent will remain valid for 20 years from March 21, 2023. The innovation allows riders to adjust the visor and speedometer based on their height and comfort, including during off-road riding. The company said the feature reflects its approach of linking design decisions closely with rider needs and performance engineering. Classic Legends, known for reviving heritage motorcycle brands, has steadily built a strong base of in-house research and intellectual property for both Indian and overseas markets.
Earlier, the company secured a patent for its Airfilter Multifrequency Resonator used in its 650cc motorcycles such as the BSA Gold Star, which helps reduce unwanted intake noise across the engine’s full rpm range. It was also among the early players to introduce a liquid-cooled 334cc engine, six-speed gearbox, slipper clutch, traction control, and advanced braking systems in the mid-capacity segment. Speaking on the development, Susheel Sinha, Head of R&D at Classic Legends, said the patent reflects the company’s belief that performance engineering must deliver long-term comfort, durability, and clarity to riders, rather than just adding features.
Kolkata motorcycle sector has shown steady interest in mid-capacity and adventure motorcycles over the past few years. With riders in eastern India increasingly seeking comfort, touring ability, and customisation, innovations like adjustable rider interfaces are expected to find appreciation among urban and highway-focused buyers in the region.
