CM Manik Saha: A thorough personnel transfer policy will be implemented by the Tripura government

In a move set to reshape administrative efficiency and promote equitable service delivery, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday announced that the state government is preparing a comprehensive transfer policy for its more than 1.04 lakh government employees. The policy, he said, will bring transparency, uniformity, and fairness to the process of employee postings across the state.

The announcement came during the inauguration of the newly constructed building of Madhupur Higher Secondary School in Sepahijala district, where the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to balanced governance and service delivery.

“The government is working on a comprehensive transfer policy for government employees to ensure equitable distribution of postings across the state,” Saha said. “Provisions will also be made to accommodate special cases where necessary, but no employee will be allowed to remain in the same location for an extended period under any circumstances.”

The Chief Minister asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in Tripura upholds the values of clarity, transparency, and accountability in governance, and the new transfer policy will reflect these principles. Officials say the draft is currently being reviewed by administrative experts and will likely be tabled for cabinet approval in the coming months.

Tripura has a workforce of 1,04,683 government employees, a large portion of whom serve in departments such as education, healthcare, and rural development. Currently, disparities in postings have led to an uneven distribution of human resources, with certain urban locations witnessing concentration of staff while remote and rural regions continue to face shortages.
