Congress leader slams Assam CM for making indecent marks

A Congress leader has filed a defamation case against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Uttarakhand Court.

The case was filed against the Assam CM before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (3rd) Nadeem Ahmad during a hearing on May 15 in Uttarakhand and next hearing will be on June 3.

As per the complaint, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made indecent remarks against party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in 2022 while campaigning for Uttarakhand Assembly polls.

The complainant Ganesh Upadhyay, he is the spokesperson of Congress in Uttarakhand. According to the leader, the Assam CM was criticizing Rahul Gandhi for raising questions on the 2016 surgical strikes by India in Pakistan.
