Cops launch probe for fire case

Police on Monday started an investigation into the fire incident at the office of the Chief Medical Officer in Gautam Buddha Nagar on April 22 in which several documents, including birth and death registration certificates, were destroyed, officials said.

Three days after the fire broke out at the CMO’s office, a First Information Report (FIR) of the incident was lodged at the Sector 39 police station on the complaint of Fire Station Officer (Noida Phase I) Sanjeev Kumar Singh, they said.

Although the CMO office and related branch officials were present at the scene, some documents, computers; The furniture was burnt in the fire. Firefighters saved a large portion of the premises, it said.
