In a shootout on Saturday night in the Shahpur neighborhood of this city, police said they killed a renowned criminal wanted in connection with the 2020 attack on cricketer Suresh Raina’s relatives.
According to SSP Sanjiv Suman, Rashid alias Chalta Firta alias Sipahiya, who had a cash bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head, was slain in an encounter.
He claimed that two motorcycle-riding guys opened fire on the police officers who had apprehended the pair after receiving information that interstate gang members were lodging near Shahpur police station.
