Directorate General of Training partners with  Microsoft to empower youth with industry-relevant skills

The Directorate General of Training (DGT) and Microsoft have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to train students and educators at government-led Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and National SkillTraining Institutions (NSTIs). Microsoft will offer a wide range of courses, including AI, cloud computing, web development and cybersecurity skills, to nearly 6,000 students and 200 faculty members.

 This collaboration is part of the Skill India Mission.This training will empower young students with industry-relevant skills, enhancing their employability and connecting them to relevant job opportunities. Students will learn from industry experts and engage in deep-dive sessions, multifaceted capstone projects.

Train-the-Trainer workshops will be conducted to empower faculty members on AI fluency and fundamentals, cloud computing, web development, Power BI, and soft skills. The CyberShikshaa program will also be expanded to students and educators at 10 NSTIs for women. Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State (MoS), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; and Ministry of Electronics and IT, said, “For this purpose, it is crucial that our skilling efforts help build a skilled workforce that is capable of effectively protecting and defending digital systems and networks.”
