Star Cement has organised StarTech – 2022 in The Forresta, Siliguri. StarTech is an Engineers’ & Architects’ meet and a thought-sharing platform for engineers and technocrats where various aspects related to civil engineering and technology are discussed and deliberated.More than two hundred and fifty engineers along with various dignitaries participated in the meet. Dr. Jayanta Pathak, HOD Civil, Assam Engineering College was the Chief Speaker. Dr. Pathak shared his insights on the topic of Earthquake Risk Management by Architects & Engineers. He spoke a lot on preventive measures and earthquake engineering with an emphasis on risk management, resilience and catastrophe modelling for natural hazards.
Dr. Diganta Goswami, Associate Professor, Assam Engineering College also participated in this most talked about meet and he provided a lecture on the topic of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering. He spoke at large about the importance of geotechnical engineering in the design planning process as they assess the integrity of soil, clay, silt and rock prior to the commencement of the construction.
