Durex TBBT and SSACS unite for World AIDS Day spectacle

Durex The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) took center stage as the Health Partner alongside Sikkim State AIDS Control Society (SSACS) for the World AIDS Day 2023 celebration. Set against the backdrop of Gangtok’s scenic landscape, the event not only entertained but also passionately educated attendees about HIV/AIDS awareness.Durex TBBT, known for its innovative approach in imparting life skills to adolescents, collaborated with SSACS to align with the World Health Organization’s theme, ‘Let Communities Lead.’ The SOFIYUM Music Festival, featuring local talent and hip hop artist Sudarshan Rai, echoed powerful messages of consent, equity, and awareness, reflecting the core values of the TBBT curriculum.

Gangtok’s Mayor, Shri Nell Bahadur Chettri, praised the program as a “positive and fruitful initiative for the youths,” while a Pride Walk Fashion Show, graced by popular artists, added a touch of glamour with a deeper purpose—solidarity with those affected by HIV/AIDS.Ravi Bhatnagar, Director, External Affairs & Partnerships, SOA, Reckitt, highlighted the significance of community sensitization in addressing the high prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Sikkim. Mrs. Deki Wangmoo Phempu, Project Director, SSACS, expressed gratitude for TBBT’s initiative in shaping adolescents into advocates of comprehensive reproductive health.
