Early Investors Put 31% Farmley Stake on Block; Valuation May Hit ₹2,000 Cr

Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) heavyweights including Emami, ITC, Britannia, and Orkla India are actively competing to acquire a significant equity stake in healthy snacking brand Farmley, in a potential transaction that could value the direct-to-consumer company at ₹2,000 crore. The potential deal comes as a group of early investors holding a combined 31 per cent stake in the dry fruits and nuts specialist has put its holdings up for sale. Depending on whether co-founders Akash Sharma and Abhishek Agarwal choose to dilute or offload any portion of their combined 32 per cent stake, the transaction could ultimately take the form of either a minority or majority acquisition. Investment advisory firm KPMG is currently managing the sale process on behalf of the exiting investors, with preliminary bids anticipated by the end of October. The consortium of early backers offering their shares includes Omnivore Partners, DSG Consumer Partners, Alkemi Growth Capital, Insitor Partners, Indigram Labs, and Trifecta Capital, whereas private equity firm L Catterton—which holds a 21 per cent stake—is expected to remain invested during this funding cycle. Established in 2017 by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) alumni Sharma and Agarwal, Farmley initially began operations as a business-to-business supplier supplying dry fruits and nuts to retail outlets before successfully pivoting into a direct-to-consumer brand in 2021. The enterprise experienced a major financial valuation jump following its Series C funding round in 2025, during which L Catterton injected approximately ₹194 crore as part of a total ₹223-crore primary and secondary fundraise, valuing the firm at ₹944 crore and enabling partial exits for select early investors while DSG Consumer Partners raised its equity share. Farmley has demonstrated rapid top-line expansion, reporting net revenue of ₹396 crore in FY25, representing a strong 72 per cent surge from ₹230 crore generated in FY24. The growth trajectory positions the company to target revenues of ₹600-700 crore for FY26, with projections extending to ₹700-750 crore for FY27. Digital platforms remain the core engine of Farmley’s commercial success, with roughly 80 per cent of its total sales originating online through e-commerce and fast-growing quick commerce channels.
