EESL launches National Efficient Cooking Programme in Tripura

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) inaugurated the National Efficient Cooking Programme (NECP) in Tripura, distributing 2,000 induction cooktops to Anganwadi Centres across the state. This initiative, in collaboration with the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), aims to promote energy efficiency and transition to clean electric cooking methods.

The event was attended by key officials, including Tripura’s Minister of Power, Shri Ratan Lal Nath, and EESL’s CEO, Shri Vishal Kapoor. This program addresses health and environmental concerns associated with traditional biomass cooking, offering a cost-effective and safer alternative.

Minister Ratan Lal Nath highlighted EESL’s contributions to improving energy efficiency in Tripura, while Kapoor emphasized the commitment to sustainable solutions. The NECP is part of a broader goal to deploy 20 lakh induction cooktops across India, enhancing air quality and public health.
