Eight suspects caught in Mizoram drug operation

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Mizoram authorities arrested eight individuals in Aizawl and seized 220 grams of heroin and 105 kilograms of ganja.

Among those apprehended are two individuals from Cachar, Assam, one from Pherzawl, Manipur, and one from Aizawl. The ganja, reportedly smuggled from Meghalaya and Tripura, was recovered during joint operations by excise officials and Assam Rifles personnel.

All eight suspects have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and further investigations are underway.
