In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, as many as 65, 22,772 NOTA votes were polled, which actually constituted 1.06% of the total number of votes. In fact the highest numbers of NOTA votes were cast in Bihar (8, 16,950). Meanwhile, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, as many as 60, 02,942 NOTA votes were actually cast. Recently a list released by Association for Democratic Reforms shows educational qualification of candidates in 7th phase of Lok Sabha elections. In fact as per the list, 24 candidates are illiterate, 31 are 5th pass, 8th pass (62), 10th pass (133), 12th pass (176) and graduate (164).
