Elephant carcass found in Jharkhand

On Saturday, the dead body of an adult male elephant was found in a forest in Jharkhand’s Ranchi district.

“The cause of death is yet to be known. No injury marks were found on the body. A team of forest officials and a veterinary doctor have been sent to the spot, and the post-mortem examination is underway,” said Srikanth Verma, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Ranchi.

The cause is still under investigation, the report said.
