Experts from six countries to attend future skills meets

Thought leaders and educators from at least four countries and honchos of some top IT firms and policymakers will be among over 1000 prominent participants who will brainstorm together at two back-to-back future skills conferences here which will seek to highlight the emergence of new opportunities for Northeastern youths in next-Gen cutting edge technologies with an aim to propel India into a technologically advanced future. Union Minister for State for Electronics and II, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrashekar will inaugurate the day-long Digital India Future Skills Summit to be held at Guahati University tomorrow. The summit  – first such event to be held in the Northeast – will serve as a significant platform for discussions, insights and collaborations aimed at fostering digital literacy in sync with the needs of the new-age industry.

“It will deliberate on the crucial role of digital skills in shaping India’s future, aiming to transform the country into a digitally empowered society,” said Dr Y. Jayanta Singh, Executive Director of National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NEILIT) Guwahati which is organizing the events with support from Union Ministry of Electronics and IT. Subhanshu Tiwari, executive director and OSD to DG, NIELIT, said the Summit will feature panel discussions on four key themes – cyber security, Artifical Intelligence, Semicon and Future skills. Over 1000 prominent attendees will join the summit and hear insights from over 25 stellar speakers, including four global speakers.

The participants will also explore over 30 innovative exhibitions – half of them from Northeast – and witness three dozen strategic collaborations of NEILIT with Intel, HCL, Microsoft, Kindryl, IIM Raipur, IITM Gwalior, Wipro etc. The International Conference on Communication, Electronics and Digital Technologies -NICEDT-2024 slate for February 16 and 17, is the 2nd International level conference to be organized by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), the first in Northeast. Over 200 papers in subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Analytics, Cyber Security & Forensic, Network and Mobile Security, Advanced Computing etc – are expected to be submitted at the conference which will feature international speakers.
