Fashion designer Rohit Bal put on life support at Gurgaon’s Medanta Hospital

Fashion designer Rohit Bal is currently battling a serious health condition and is on ventilator support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Medanta Hospital, Gurugram.
Born in Srinagar, Rohit Ball started his career in 1986 and is one of the most famous fashion designers in the country.

Mr. Bal, 62, reportedly struggled with alcohol addiction and was in and out of rehab. In November last year, Mr Bal’s condition took a turn for the worse, requiring him to be admitted to Medanta Hospital immediately.

In February 2010, Mr. Bal suffered a heart attack that required emergency angioplasty.

Mr. Bal won the ‘Designer of the Year’ at the Indian Fashion Awards in 2006 and the Kingfisher Fashion Achievement Award in 2001. Her works were also recognized in 2012 when she was named Lakme Grand Finale Designer.
