Under India’s G20 Presidency, the Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting is been convened from July 14 – 18, 2023 in Gandhinagar. The two-day meeting is being, co-chaired by Secretary,Department of Economic Affairs, and Dr. Michael D. Patra, Deputy Governor, of RBI, the two-day meeting will discuss major global economic challenges among G20 members and partner countries.
Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Dr. Shaktikanta Das will jointly chair the meeting. The third FMCBG meeting will feature G20 members, finance ministers, guest country central bank governors, and international organization heads discussing global economy and international financial architecture. On the first day of the meeting, the delegates strengthening Multilateral Development Banks in a roundtable session, focusing on the outcome document for the New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit.
The document will present work under various G20 Finance Track streams and FMCBG’s guidance on the future. The discussions will be carried forward to the 3rd G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting in July.The G20 meeting will feature five thematic sessions on global economy, sustainable finance, infrastructure, international financial architecture, taxation, and financial inclusion.
